Two of my all-time film favorites that have influenced directors, actors and all walks of people throughout the generations.
Akira Kurosawa and Toshiro Mifune.
I bought those 2 books back in 2001 and they're both really good reads. Especially if you're into Kurosawa's films, Mifune's acting, as well as the relationship Kurosawa and Mifune had as director and actor. Particularly in some of the best films made in film history.
One of the main reasons why I am very interested in samurai is that my mother's side are descendants of samurai and it's in the bloodline.
And, yes, that is a small figure of Mifune's character, Sanjuro from the film, Yojimbo that you see. There was a line of figures(made by Kaiyodo in Japan) from Yojimbo including Kurosawa that were black and white and color.

When referring to cooking:'Mother nature is the true artist, we're just the technicians.'
Said consistently by a guy I've admired for quite some time now....the godfather himself, Marco Pierre White.

Of when I used to live in San Diego.
El Nino was causing havok along beaches in Southern California back in 2002 and I was over in Mission Beach standing on the jetty for hours taking hundreds of photos. Unreal, fantastic colors were everywhere. Being immersed in something so grand is nothing you can really explain and can't be fully captured by photos.

I've added a concept illustration of the logo I did last year for the new Incredible Hulk film that's coming out. They didn't end up using it, so here it is:

I've also added some GoW Chains of Olympus stuff I did last year for advertising purposes, which look like this:
