Had an interesting cross country drive.


Passed by Univ of Iowa, Ohio St and Penn St on the way to NY. Didn't go out of the way...off the main highways.

Biscuits and gravy were served at almost every place I went to for coffee in the morning(which were just gas stations). Truck stops included. Oliver just beat Alton of Penn St, also beat Jason Chamberlain

Wow...JO pulls it off and wins in 3 periods, but.....they need to do away with the clinch and if the refs gave Metcalf the point where they went out of bounds initially...I dunno what's up with that. Metcalf should have been in the finals

btw...Aaron Pico, beastin' Another 2 titles. in the 2013 FILA Jr Nationals(meaning guys in NCAA wrestling programs are entered). He won titles in Freestyle AND Greco. When you're a kid in 9th grade and you're dominating guys in college...damn He outscored his opponents 34-2 in this tournament.


I can guarantee all of the major programs started looking at this kid last year. Tom and Cael will be making pitches for sure.



Zahid Valencia won his weight class at the Jr Western Regionals against an opponent he faced the previous year.


Hayden Tuma was really impressive in his Greco final...goodness.

Zahid Valencia of St.John Bosco is in the Jr 120 finals. 2 MD, 1 TF and a dec so far.
He's in the finals against Ronnie Bresser, whom Valencia met for the Flonationals championship at 115 last year.

133 and 141 going on right now. Logan Steiber(Ohio St) got a pin about 5 minutes ago in his 1st match.

If you have ESPN, they're broadcasting it and I have Uverse, so I can watch mats 3,4,5 and 6.

As I'm typing this, Tony Ramos(IOWA) just pinned his opponent.

Steiber just won again. Jordan Oliver(Ok St) up 6-3 right now against Valenti(Virginia).

Dake, what a performance. What else can you say?
That 1st stall call was ridiculous. He was riding Taylor HARD and putting constant pressure, returning Taylor to the mat numerous times. It almost seemed like the refs wanted to give Taylor a chance to come back in the match.
People will ask why Dake went up in weight to challenge Taylor. Even though I'm sure he was going to do it anyways and Jordan Burroughs convinced Dake, there is something about competition that always holds true.

You always want to beat your opponent badly, but if you compete against your friends, you want to beat them even worse.
